Marquis Energy Drink is an all-natural organic energy beverage sweetened with erythritol and stevia.

Its caffeine is derived naturally from yerba mate, green coffee, and green tea.

Marquis Energy Drink is available in three flavors; Super Berry, Citrus Yuzu, and Mango Ginger.

The company recently sent us some samples of each flavor for review.

Marquis Energy Drink Review

Marquis has been around for a while but recently the brand has been totally reinvented and is nothing like the old version which was guarana-based. I was curious to see what Marquis has to offer a somewhat crowded energy drink market.

I'm not a fan of traditional energy drinks. They're overly sweet and taste artificial so I don't typically drink them as a way to get my caffeine fix. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the first can of Marquis. This is a drink that I actually could enjoy. Lighty sweet, a nice flavor profile, and not artificial tasting.

Here are my thoughts on each flavor.

Citrus Yuzu

This flavor has a refreshing citrus flavor and is easy to drink. It has a little bit of an aftertaste from the stevia, but it isn't a detractor.

Super Berry

This version of Marquis Energy Drink has a nice berry flavor that isn't overbearing or overly sweet. Again, just a little of the stevia, but overall, they did a good job flavor-wise with Super Berry.

Mango Ginger

Of the three, this was my least favorite. To me, it had more of a turmeric flavor than ginger for some reason. It was a bit too "earthy" tasting for my preference.

Energy Ingredients and Effect

Marquis Energy Drink uses a blend of yerba mate, green coffee, and green tea to deliver 100 mg of caffeine per can.

This blend seeks to deliver a more balanced and calm lift than drinks that use synthetic caffeine or caffeine derived from coffee alone.

After drinking Marquis, I think they've done a good job of achieving this. Since both yerba mate and green tea have calming properties, I felt alert but not overly stimulated. It was a gentle lift that lasted throughout my late morning.

Marquis has a little less caffeine per volume than a Red Bull or a Rockstar, but this isn't a bad thing, especially for people who don't want to consume high amounts of caffeine daily.

Marquis Energy Drink also contains vitamin C and an assortment of B vitamins.

Overall, I think Marquis did a good job with their brand reboot. They've created an easy to drink and well-flavored beverage that people can feel good about drinking since it's zero sugar and organic.
